iShoot Developer Reveals Mysterious New Screenshots

The AppStore has been a great advantage to many developers, especially Ethan Nicholas, the famous iShoot creator. He had quite his job due to massive $800,00 earnings through the first five months. However, he did admit that it’s ‘just pure luck’ when it comes to developing for the iPhone, and iShoot was a great hit for him.

On his twitter account, he posted two new screenshots of an upcoming game, his second project. Both screenshots are found in this post, to the left (click to enlarge) and at the beginning of this post. It seems to be a full-3D FPS with an analog stick on the left, a pause button jsut below that, a shoot button and lastly, an aiming symbol. Overall the layout looks great, but the graphics put it down a lot. We do not know any information about this title, but expect it to be something along the lines of his first success – iShoot. Upcoming Free Version of F.A.S.T with DLC

SGN, the creator of F.A.S.T, a flight combat game which took the community with suprise has announced an upcoming free version of the game. Selling over 1.8 million copies of their game for only $0.99, we’ll have to see how going free will do for them.

However, there is always a catch, and obviosuly this catch is DLC (downloadable content). You will be able to purchase upgrades and planes from within the game. When Apple first announced that you free apps could have DLC, many developers have taken advatange of this such as NGmoco:) with their Rolando 2, and announcing Eliminate’s free price tag. Nobody knows whether this could lead game developers to a bad or good ending, but all we can do is wait.

3D Rollercoaster Rush Bundle Pack!

It’s easier to just buy one application, rather than several which all have the same concept. And for a cheaper price, which is good for everybody. Well now Digital Chocolate have combined three of their topselling games into one bundle pack – 3D Rollercoaster Rush.

They have sold many great titles including Crazy Penguin Catapult and Moto Racing Fever. Rollercoaster Rush has brought them many more customers with positive comments from Pocketgamer and many other blogs, including us.

The objective is simple, you tilt the device to controlt the rollercoaster, to move left or brake as you jump around curves on hectic rollercaster tracks. You have about three carts and if you land at a steep angle, then you lose one. It’s gameover when you lose all of them.

FIFA 10 for iPhone Updated

FIFA 10 by EA mobile has recieved an update adding more teams, bluetooth multiplayer mode and seemingly better, stronger graphics. Of course the graphics would appear better on a 2G iPod touch and an iPhone 3G[S], but us iPod touch 1G users can have a go.

Although there is no online play as in Real Soccer 2010 and in the future X2 Football 10, FIFA 10 could still steal you away. The graphics are pretty good, the animations are perfect and it is very content-heavy. However, due to the horrible, confusing controls I don’t think it’s just there yet. You can check out my comparison of the top 3 football games on the AppStore, and judge where FIFA 10 should be placed.

New Screenshots for NBA Live Shows Off Great Action

Fresh from EA’s facebook page, here are three more screenshots showing the beautiful graphics and amazing action promised to bring to the iPhone version of NBA Live. We posted some information and ealrier screenshots which took the iPhone community by shock. This looks to be the first full 3D basketball game to arrive in the AppStore.

Here are the new screenshots, from different angles, and below that is some info cut off a recent blog post:

As normal, the season mode includes the 82-game schedule, which would lead you all the way to the finals/playoffs. The music will include tracks form Snoop Dog, along with original commentary from Marv Albert.

The controls would probably be the usual virtual stick used for movement, and a simple pass, shoot and dribble button. Hopefully the controls won’t be as bad as FIFA 10, and will include the accelerometer in some way.

Trailer and Gameplay for Upcoming Rally Master Pro

Rally Master Pro, a game won many awards on the normal mobile platform is now coming to the iPhone, and after many previews it now has a beaturiful trailer. With beautiful graphics, snow, rain and sun weather options and 27 full races of different enovrionments, Fishlabs could make a winner.

Modern Combat Multiplayer Update Soon

Modern Combat the widely renowned iPod/iPhone FPS took the iPhone gaming world by storm with its new FPS graphics. Some of the best graphics out there. Now Gameloft announces that a multiplayer update is on its way hinting at a release before Christmas.

This will give Nova and Eliminate some healthy competition although in the online category I expect Eliminate to win because Eliminate is designed for online play unlike Modern Combat and Nova where the is a campaign mode.

Sniper VS Sniper REVIEW!

Com2us has been one of my favorite iPhone developer because of their awesome games like Chronicles of Inotia and Baseball Sluggers. Following the success of Baseball Sluggers comes a whole new experience called Sniper vs. Sniper. In this game, you play as a sniper and need to find for your enemy as fast as you can before the enemy finds you. While the graphics aren’t very appealing, the gameplay is thrilling and more than I could have ever asked for.

Sniper vs. Sniper includes a very extensive single player campaign mode that features around five locations, each with around 3 or 4 extensive levels. Along with the single player mode is an online mode where you can play against anyone in the world. The goal in online mode is to kill your opponent by draining his health bar to 0, and points are added to your score just like it does in Baseball Sluggers.

Online mode also consists of a chat room where you can talk with other snipers freely. There is also an online leaderboard that shows who has the highest amount of points, which is again, very similar to Baseball Sluggers. I found it very difficult to defeat my opponent easily, and I was on the edge of my seat for the whole time while on online mode. It’s definitely a trippy experience since you don’t know where your opponent is at all, and you’ll be looking around the map to try and find your opponent. Here’s a video for you guys.

To control your scope/binoculars, simply tilt your device. If you tap once on the screen, the binoculars will pop up, and if you double tap, the scope will shoot right up. Overall, the controls felt very natural with many possible routes to your desired piece of equipment.All in all, Sniper vs. Sniper is another solid online game from Com2us, and there’s really no competition right now. The graphics do need a little bit of work as the player models and backgrounds are stationary, but the gameplay was/is beyond what I thought it would be. Online play is one of the best online experiences I have ever played, and you’ll definitely feel the thrill once you start playing. Sniper vs. Sniper is just another example of how online games should be executed and presented, and Com2us seems to have hit the bullseye in almost every category.

Star Wars: Trench Run Preview with Video!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for a more proper Star Wars games since The Force Unleashed was ported over to the App Store. However, I might have just found the right title, Star Wars: Trench Runs. THQ Wireless gave us a heads up on this preview video which shows a game built around a famous scene from the original Star Wars movie. Here’s what they said.

Use the Force to overthrow the evil Galactic Empire as they attempt to destroy the small Rebel base on Yavins jungle moon.

As part of the Rebel Alliances Red Squadron you dogfight with TIE Fighters above the Death Stars surface before heading into a trench where you are inundated by cannon fire. Dodge obstacles, and stay out of Darth Vaders sights as he tries to gun you down before you have the chance to fire your proton torpedoes into a thermal exhaust port the size of a womp rat. If successful, a direct hit will cause a chain reaction that destroys the Death Star, thus saving the Rebel base from impending doom.

Remember, only a precise hit will start a chain reaction. That’s impossible you say? Even for a computer? Bah…. I used to bullseye womp rats with my T-16 back home…

Updates Galore!

In the midst of all the various approvals last night, Apple also let loose a tidal wave of updates. It’s probably a good idea to mash the “Check for Updates” button in iTunes to see what is available. Here’s a list of the more notable updates that went live tonight that added some new features or functionality to some games you may or may not already own.

Words With Friends, $2.99 – Aside from Facebook and Twitter integration, Newtoy also finally added push notifications to the game. With them enabled, you will get an alert whenever it’s your move in an active game. There is also a lite version available, but so far push alerts are only in the premium version.

Harbor Master, 99¢ – Version 1.6 adds bluetooth multiplayer, fast forward, and the ability to toggle auto-docking. In the multiplayer mode, when you send a ship off screen, it appears on the same position on your opponent’s screen with a full load of cargo. With careful planning, you may be able to overwhelm your opponent by keeping empty ships on screen to send them all over to your opponent in one huge wave. There’s also an available lite with one of the maps from the full version.

Run, 99¢ – The latest update adds all kinds of new functionality. A quick start mode to ramp up difficulty faster, OpenFeint, extra lives, a combo system, along with several new achievements and obstacles. There’s a clock on the pause screen to see how long you’ve been playing, and a whole bunch of other minor gameplay tweaks.

Bobby Carrot Forever, $3.99 – FDG Entertainment has extended the game world, bundled in a new free level pack, and 5 new downloadable content level packs that boast 15 additional hours of gameplay. Bobby Carrot 5 Lite will let you get a taste of the game if you don’t already own it.

Hi, How Are You, $1.99 – This Daniel Johnston-powered puzzle game somehow got even more awesome with 33 new levels, even more enemies and obstacles, and additional achievements. The new update also introduces some interface tweaks, bug fixes, and some rebalancing of gameplay elements. If you haven’t yet, give the lite a spin.

Lion Pride, 99¢ – As if hunting for prey during the day wasn’t enough, Blue Fang Games added a night time mode, along with elephants and four new levels along with some bug fixes and scoring tweaks.
